Adding a cool edge effect can add just the right element to your photos. An intriguing border can take a ho-hum image and make it really pop while adding the right edge to a great picture can take it to a whole new level.
Given that, I’m always in the lookout for a new and interesting way to add a fun border to my images. So when I came across this tutorial from Gavin Hoey from GavTrain.com, I was particularly intrigued. Gavin’s method is a bit different from many I’ve seen in that he uses the adjustment brush in Photoshop’s Camera RAW (and requires Photoshop CS4 or later) to get the painted effect. The resulting border is both feathery and textured, giving the image an effect that feels a bit on the surreal side. And it’s fast and easy to do too. I love it! I hope that you do too.
