I’m forever impressed by how creative folks can be when it comes to new ideas for photography.
In the video below, you’ll see some fun and imaginative ideas for photo effects using (mostly) common household items. I love these kinds of videos. The ideas come in handy when I feel like I’m in a photography rut or maybe a bit burnt out and uninspired. Or even when I’m just looking for a new way to shoot a familiar scene.
By the way, the spray bottle bokeh shown in the video is fun, but can be tricky to pull off. If you decide to give it a try, be sure to cover your lens with a clear filter, especially if you are spraying directly onto the lens. I don’t do that–I like my lenses far too much to spray water on them. But even if you are just spraying water in the vicinity, I suggest using a clear filter because misty water has a tendency to blow around.
In addition to creating bokeh effects, a spray bottle of water can also come in handy for adding moisture droplets to flowers and leaves before photographing. In fact, that’s one of my favorite things to do!
In any case, I found the ideas in this video useful and inspiring! I hope you will too.
